Sun

The second of my Hindu mythology triptych.

The sun is well known for being a destructive force, taking lives and igniting parts of the Earth when it's hot an dry enough. But it's also just as capable of renewing life. Not only do the world's vegetation need sunlight to survive, but forests that are burned to the ground by the sun's heat provide fertile ground for new life.

Shiva was a deity that I associated with the sun. Shiva is the god of destruction in Hindu mythology, but what people don't seem to think about is that destruction can also leave room for renewal.
